Seymour Duncan is here to help. The Musicians Foundation has announced the Seymour Duncan Guitar Scholarship, created through the generous support of Seymour Duncan Pickups and Pedals to honor its namesake and founder, inventor Seymour Duncan.
The scholarship will be awarded to a Guitar AA student enrolling in fall 2011 who demonstrates outstanding musicianship along with the potential to develop a unique voice on the instrument in any style or genre. The deadline to apply for the Seymour Duncan Scholarship is September 12, 2011.
The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the Guitar performance program only, and may not be transferred to “non-performance program” emphases (Audio Engineering, Music Business, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft, or Film) within an AA degree.
Award
$7,000.00 tuition credit ($1,750.00 per quarter for the first four consecutive quarters of the program as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory progress).
Eligibility and Conditions
- Newly-enrolled AA (Guitar Program) students only.
- US citizen and non-US citizen.
- Failure to maintain enrollment and satisfactory academic progress in AA (Guitar) program for the full duration of the scholarship may result in withdrawal of the award.

VIDEO RECORDING:
Submit a video recording (DVD format only) of you performing three (3) songs in any genre on the electric guitar. It is recommended that this include two (2) live ensemble (band or duo) performances, and one (1) guitar solo performance.
