Giveaway: Win a set of Halloween “Boo-Buckers”

Just in time for Halloween, the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop has created ten sets of “Boo-Bucker” pickups. Throughout the weekend, ten lucky winners will receive a set of these brilliant humbuckers—a Custom Shop ’78 humbucker for the bridge and a Pearly Gates humbucker for the neck—wound by the legendary Maricela “MJ” Juarez of Seymour Duncan Custom Shop. To complete the spooky Halloween look, MJ dyed the bobbins orange and incorporated a jet black “Seymour Duncan” logo.

The ’78 Model is a recreation of a legendary low-output humbucker Seymour originally created for the high-flying soloists of the late ’70s and early ’80s. The Pearly Gates is a faithful recreation of the pickups in a certain ’59 Les Paul that helped lay the foundation of Texas blues-rock. Both pickups have Alnico-2 magnets and 4-conductor cable. And both are spoooooooky … in the Halloween Boo-Bucker set.

All you have to do to enter is upload a picture of yourself in a Halloween costume to the Seymour Duncan Facebook page.  Photos of Halloween costumes on your pets, your guitar, or your band are accepted as well!  Enter photos by Sunday, 6pm PDT.  Good luck!

Also, stay tuned this Halloween weekend for contests through the Seymour Duncan Twitter page.

Good luck!

MJ is the very best. She gives Seymour Duncan that extra special “something” that no other has. Eric and I agree. If you have a problem with your guitar, call Seymour. If you need unique pickups, call MJ. Nobody touched Blackie but Seymour. Nobody touches my guitars but MJ. Give the Halloween pickups to somebody else, but remember, MJ is the best. If you need “the tone,” call MJ. There is no reason to call anyone else, none.

Need a little help trying to decide on a pair of hums for a brand new les paul traditional I just recently purchased. The 57′s that are on it sound o.k. To me the bridge sounds pretty dirty but the neck is just too muddy for my taste. I am a Rock player Metal with alot of crunch and output. I love my leads to sing with almost syrupy mojo. I use alot of Delay with my solo’s. I use a Marshall duel monobloc going through a Digitech GSP 1101. So I got output forever.Got any ideas? Loudness with total clarity is what I’m trying to acheive here. I have been kinda lookin at those George Lynch super V’s I like alot of output. What do you think? But whatever I can come up with , I want the set to be matched with polished chrome. And wax potted for sure.

the most common is the JB in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck both alnico’s but i play high gain stuff too so i put the SH-5 Custom (ceramic) in the bridge instead of the alnico JB. and i am more than pleased with the result!
