Spot the Dumble!!!
I spotted the dumble :)
but what's that hole next to the tuner button you see?!
7 posts, and we haven't heard from Aceman yet? What's up with that?
It's too expected.
When does Aceman ever do the expected? That would detract from his spontaneity.
prolly saw the pics and his hands are too busy to type. lol
Yeah, least on this one, they did the correct pups. Mine was 3 Super distortions. I swapped the neck one with a paf
Are you saying Ace is...?
I don't even think I can bother pulling a guitar like that off the rack. That middle pickup just gets in the way. Cris has a 1960 black beauty custom with three pickups in the shop & I don't like playing that either.
A friend just dropped off an Epiphone Nighthawk Custom. According to Epiphone's web site, it has an ebony board and mother of pearl inlays. In person it does not, it's a rosewood board with acrylic inlays.
Just pointing it out since Gibson has conviently placed quotes around "Mother of Pearl" in the spec sheet for the inlays of the Budukon guitar on the web site, and wouldn't be suprised if the fretboard wood is actually rosewood.
With just these examples, I wonder what Epiphone is using in place of what they call "mahogany"
Most of it is an Asian mahogany, various names but in the same general family
I haven't seen any real ebony on Epi's so it'll be interesting to get my hands on one.
it sucks, but only because the les paul toggle on the upper bout is totally, absolutely useless. It should be a 4 pole 5way blade. that way, it works. it really, really works, and it does magical stuff. I have several les pauls with 3 humbuckers, 4 pots and that switch. I have bridge, bridge+middle, bridge+neck, neck+middle, neck, and the tones I get are each and every one of them, great.
Then it wouldn't be an Ace Frehley Les Paul because he never used one like that. In fact, his bridge pickup was the only one wired up and the neck was a dummy that got pushed in to turn on a light and ignite the smoke bomb. I don't think the middle was wired up either but it might have been on that one.
