The natural is more metal if you ask me. No prissy wood finish, just clearcoat.

It could be the (specific) tint but the headstock on the black one seems just plain off.
On the other hand the tint of the natural one's headstock matches the body perfectly.
Plus, a Metalhead wouldn't go for a Pacifica
(In fact I've been thinking about an RGX520DZ, maybe a 620 if I can afford it)

Natural. My motto's always been, "If you can't see the wood, it's not as good!" All my guitars are transparent. Brown stain, natural, trans black, bursts. I just always feel like painted guitars might be hiding something. Big knots, body filler, 5 peice bodies, etc... Plus when you can see the wood, you have a one of a kind guitar. No two grains patterns will ever be the same. Anyone can have a black, white, or blue guitar.

Wow, I never thought about that one before. Makes sense...
And I've been wondering why it was I more that often liked natural finished guitars... (seriously)
However here you can see the grains on the black too, plus that doesn't count much with topped guitars (in general)...

I'm a sucker for black-dyed tops.
Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2
I prefer al natural.

I think yamaha is great with aesthetics.. they must be as prissy as me when it comes to guitars
go with the BLACK one.. those white pickups CLASH on the natural.. it's good that the headstock tint on the natural is a bit darker though... but also notice how the black guitar's headstock isn't tinted.. so the maple looks almost white (which matches the pups.. and black and white is a great combo).. why do I keep talking.. I know I'm right
and in the words of my singer "natural guitars are so 70's".. eh.. then again he still calls humbuckers "double pickups"
