Yeah it's gonna be on the new one, United Abominations, coming out May 15th. It's now called A Toute Le Monde (Set Me Free) or the other way around. The original was great and he should have left well enough alone. He couldn't do that just like he couldn't keep his hands off the remastered albums. This dude is more like George Lucas every time you turn around. Constantly releasing new material and then 3 years later saying how someone was pulling strings and forcing him to be somehting he didn't want to be. Dude's a ****in crack pot.

You ask me I thought Risk was a great album, no Peace Sells, but still a great album. I think it was good becuase his heart was in it. TWNAH was a piece of **** because he was trying to make the album everyone thought he should make. TSHF is a good album but a little inconsitent. Supposedly the remasters were his attempt to right the wrongs done to him by the man on those previous albums going all the way back to SFSGSW. It's always someone elses fault with this guy.

I call bull****, because it was recorded extra, after every other song on the record was done. He liked so much what Andy Sneap was doing when he came in at the end of tracking vocals and guitar solos that he had him track the song, as well as mix the entire record and the box-set that's coming up.

He said he re-did it because after that insane dude who killed a few people in Canada and used the song as his 'anthem,' so to speak, it sent out the wrong message, and he wanted to give it another shot at being the single he hoped it would be originally.

I personally like the new version, and the album kicks all kinds of unholy ass - most of the tracks sound straight off of CTE.

You can talk whatever **** you want about Dave and the few crappy albums he's released, but for every one of those, there's 2 awesome albums. He's a way better songwriter than anyone on this forum, and he deserves a little more respect than he's been given.

Hell, at least Megadeth has stayed consistently good, with a few ups and downs, as opposed to the overrated mudslide known as Metallica.

Settle down Jr. I said he released one bad album and it was bad because it didn't sound like his heart was in it to me. He said repeatedly that this was the album the fans wanted implying not neccesarily him. He blamed Risk on record execs trying to turn him in a pop band. Right an almost 40 year old man is gonna be turned into a pop band for the teenie boppers. Whatever. When he remastered the back catalog the only two albums he didn't touch were KIMB and PSBWB, every other album had at least some changemost had many. He blamed the original mastering techniques and most remarkably again the fact that someone was trying to turn him into something he wasn't dating all the way back to SFSGSW! It's absurd.

I am a huge fan of all that Dave has managed to put out, he's my favorite guitar player but the dude constantly makes excuses in the media for his own percieved short comings when he really should be proud of what he has done. It's been an impeccable career. When he release TSHF he said this is the album I've always wanted to make. Now four years removed and some 25 years into his musical career he has somehow still not managed to actually make an album he likes. This is ultimately demonstrated by the fact that he keeps rereleasing different versions of his back catalog. George Lucas indeed.

This I know and on KIMB aside from beeping out the lyrics for "These Boots" because of the legal aspects he didn't do anything but remaster the album as well as with Peace Sells. This was my point. He changed something on all the other albums except these two. Whether it was adding parts, changing vocals, mixing down parts or almost completely removing them.

I don't get it either. VK eluded to the fact that Dave wanted A Toute Le Monde to be the single he always hoped it would be and that the song was somehow tainted because of a maniac Canadian that I've never heard of. My guess is most people have no idea that some dude killed anyone and used this song as an anthem.

What the hell is his concern with mainstream success? He tried that with Risk and then blamed it on the producers and the record company! Now he's trying it with a 12 year old song like he's the Dixie Chicks and Fleetwood Mac.

I don't think it was an improvement over the original. The lyrical phrasing is different and the overall feel of the song.

Mustaine regardless of his contributions and musical ability is quite mad.

I'm not dissing his accent It just feels weird, just like it'd be weird for you to hear a Frenchman sing in English. Try Lazy by Noir Desir.

As for me, everyone tends to think I'm American based on my accent.

So I just heard the new A Tout Le Monde a couple times...

You know, if I wasn't constantly comparing the remake to every part of the original, I might kind of like the new version.

1) I don't think the tempo increase is very befitting of the tune
2) Dave's vocals were more believable on Youthanasia
3) I don't know if it was production or otherwise, but I'm not a fan of the way they used Cristina Scabbia on this track. The voice exchanges felt forced, like they were trying to copy the way Lacuna Coil approaches vocals, yet they didn't completely follow through with the idea.
4) Aside from the addition of four bars at the beginning, the solo was pretty faithful to the original, and I did like it.
5) At least he kept the two-part outro harmony in the end. Removing that would have murdered the end of that song.

I'm probably being overly critical of the tune, because I do like it, but I can't stop comparing it to the original. The original is without doubt one of my favorite songs on one of my favorite albums. I'll have to see how the new one grows on me over time.

And I was just teasing Pierre. I can imagine that an American accent must sound pretty nasty in the French language.
