Default new look for my '04 LP Standard.................

    .................and another pickup experiment.

i recently bought a R8 Historic LP so i wanted a slightly different look for my standard and also still wasn't happy on the current pups from my last pup experiment(Seth Lover bridge w/ aged A2 on the neck and a stock Ant bridge, both w/ covers). the neck is still a bit wooly and the bridge is still a bit bright. so i also decided to experiment with the pups while i'm at it.
the neck pup is now a Ant neck/Seth bridge hybrid w/ a full power A2 and the bridge pup is the same Ant bridge but w/ an A3 magnet. and and i removed the covers on both pups.
i'm now more happy with it(so far). the neck is now brighter, less wooly but still fat and bridge pup has a smoother top-end, more mids and the bass is "punchier".

I love the mismatched look, I went with black bridge, zebra neck on my cherry burst. What was the original bridge magnet?

Looks good man... I hope it sounds great too.

I'm more of a cover fan myself when it comes to pauls but this still looks pretty. Congrats

    I love that flametop!

I also experiment a lot with the pickups on my main 2 LP's, and right now they've got Custom/Jazz Bridge in neck, and the other one has Brobucker/PGn.
They both sound better than ever. I'd almost forgotten how good the Custom is, and the Jazz Bridge might be my favorite neck pickup ever.

I tend to like beefy sounding bridges and bright/articulate necks. Most vintage sets have a wooly neck and bright bridge.....the opposite of what I like.
