Default Where to get the neck

I'm planning out buying a neck. Here's what I want

    24" scale
    7-1/4" radius
    CBS headstock
    (brazilian - optional) rosewood fingerboard
    maple neck-back
    dots - preferably MOP
    Finished

Vintage might get a bit spendy so I'm wondering where I can buy something like this. I know it would cost something like $310 at USACG or $273 at Warmoth. Where are some other places I can get a neck with these specs.

I'm going 24 rather than 22-1/2 because I don't know what 22-1/2 will sound like. I know I'm so conservative

Not exactly what you described, but a deal none the less.

I think you will like a compound radius more than a vintage, but YMMV.

No, 7-1/4 is the best I've played so far. VERY easy to chord - 10" is not, neither is 16" or anything inbetween. And I like the overall feel

I also need that rosewood fretboard and the CBS headstock.

you'll save alotta money if ya do the finish yourself. And really warmoths finish is so thick and heavy, and kills so much vibration. You'de be better off doing a few thin coats of clear yourself rather than paying them to coat your neck in a thick layer of plastic.

I'm also thinking of putting together a warmoth, and I was considering using a tung oil finish on the neck (since its the only thing I know how to do right now, and their prices for finishing a neck seems a little high) what kind of clear coat are you talking about here? poly from a spray can?

I use Tru Oil on my unfinished Warmoth necks and it is quite easy to apply and is covered under Warmoth's warranty. You can get Tru Oil at any Wal Mart.

For the neck i wouldnt spend anything less than USACG. the neck to me is ALL THE GUITAR.

you regret getting a cheaper neck later.

Warmoth is a good idea too. But USACG for necks is the one for me.

Jack Nicholson: It's not true. Some have great stories, pretty stories that take place at lakes with boats and friends and noodle salad. Just no one in this car. But, a lot of people, that's their story. Good times, noodle salad. What makes it so hard is not that you had it bad, but that you're that pissed that so many others had it good.

+1, IMO, Warmoth necks are OK but, USACG's are the BEST you can get. Get a USACG and you will not regret it!
