Default Advice on Tele neck pickup

    Hi all,

I have a Tele with an alder body, an all-maple neck/fretobard, and a Donahue model in the bridge position. I play blues and blues-rock. For the neck position, the Tone Wizard suggests the APTR-1 or the Antiquity Tele. I'm just concerned that the high-end of these pickups will be really "muffled." Any thoughts on this?
Guitars: Brian May Red Special, Warmoth S and T partscasters, Gibson Les Paul Standard and '61 Reissue SG
Amps: Tiny Terror, 18W TMB, Vox AC15HW1
Effects: Beano Boost or Naga Viper -> Bud-Wah -> Boss DC-2 -> Nova Repeater

I'm interested in this, as I propose to put a JD in the bridge of my Tele project, along with a 4-way switch.

Try to get one without a cover. All your worries about muffled tone will be gone.
In 1861 as the Confederate forces were about to fire on Fort Sumter, the blue and gray had infinitely more in common than the blue and red today. What fellowship can "the truth shall set you free" ever have with "there is no truth, only points of view", or "what is truth?"

Secession would be a horror. But barring a major national crisis like a Black Death magnitude epidemic or nuclear attack to erase once and for all the myth that truth is negotiable, it is coming.

I've got a set of Antiquities in a swamp ash/maple Tele, and I wouldn't describe the neck pickup as "muffled". It's actually got a nice, usable sound. I have it wired with a 4-way switch for the extra option.
