Last I'd heard they were only a month.

At least since last September, that's when I got my first one. Lasted 3 months.

If you break the rules, the admins delete your message, and if it's serious enough they give you an infraction, which is just a little thing on your profile (that only you and admins can see). It works on a point system. You get 1 point, and they expire in 3 months. That said, if you accumulate too many, then you can get suspended or banned.

I don't doubt that you're doing the best you can, nor do I doubt that it's largely a thankless task.

One of the things that makes a place great is folks that challenge convention and those that uphold it. It's an ebb and flow thing.

I maintain that challenging something I felt was unfair to set precedent does more for the forum as a whole than telling someone to piss off and get lost if they don't like it.

??? I think it might vary from person to person, depending on the situation. All of my 40 infractions were just from bickering with Skarekrough.

p.s. Are these so called "infractions" tube or solid state? If they are solid state then just forget it. And if they are tube, do you think they will make my amplifier sound like Jimmy Hendrix? I think he had a couple infractions....
