    Default Phat Cat covers

    Can they be removed?

Good question. I know that removing the cover from an old P-90 can very likely end up in a mess of wire.
Buy the book in my avatar. It's pretty cool.

Yes. Like a standard Bucker cover IIRC.

I thought I read somewhere that the cover holds the pickup together.

    I wouldn't...

That's what I remember too ... better do a search before you start taking it apart!

I've done it safely, but it is a bit risky. The bobbin for whatever reason isn't screwed to the baseplate like a humbucker bobbin.

The bobbin is just a P90 bobbin with the ends sawed off to fit under a humbucker style cover.
In 1861 as the Confederate forces were about to fire on Fort Sumter, the blue and gray had infinitely more in common than the blue and red today. What fellowship can "the truth shall set you free" ever have with "there is no truth, only points of view", or "what is truth?"

Secession would be a horror. But barring a major national crisis like a Black Death magnitude epidemic or nuclear attack to erase once and for all the myth that truth is negotiable, it is coming.

The cover pretty much hold the pickup together and keep the noise down.

I have actually been looking for Gibson type P-94 covers for it. They are open in the middle.

I think Allparts has them but not sure.
