Default dimarzio chopper - friggin awesome

installed my new dimarzio chopper this morning. i tried it in middle and neck positions. although it's a rather odd sounding combination with my duncan cc bridge, i like it a hell of a lot. i can't tell how good this things sounds. arpeggios, sweeps, fast runs all just roll right off your fingers. harmonics are good, and the tone is so nice. surprisingly enough, i think this thing can be such a good blues sounding pickup for the neck. i've got enough guitars, but this thing really makes me want to get a strat with three of these.

if you have any use for a single size pup, you must check this thing out. it's incredible. listen to the dimarzio website samples, it sounds just like it when you plug up except that you can't tell how great it feels until you play one.

I've had a chopper in the neck slot of a couple Hamer Californians and it was much better than a Cool Rails in both (although in one I replaced it with a Hot Rails to get more output). Dimarzio's ProTrack is also a very nice pickup.

i tried the fast track and it was very full sounding and nice, but i wanted something that could cut through real well in the neck, so i went with the chopper. this is such a good pickup. i just don't know why there's not more buzz about it. people should really check this thing out.

I can tell you right now that the Fast Track 2 is intended and best works at the bridge.

I also have a Fast Track 1 which I like a lot at the neck. Now I would have gotten a Chopper if I were to also replace my middle pu but since I only use it with my neck (2nd pos.) for playing clean chords I though that the stock pu should be sufficient...

How is the chopper different in the neck compared to a Fast Track 1?

i was referring to the fast track 2. i didn't try the fast track 1 because i wanted a little more output. from what i've heard though, it's kind of similar
