Talking Bass Pron And A Question.....

My Refinned '83 Hamer Blitz with a Hamer Cruise bass truss rod cover on it.....

    Brownie...

I think the Jazz bass like pickup is a Duncan but dont remember any identifiers on the underside. Any info or idea on which Duncan it might be would be appreciated. With the switching and knobs, vol., vol., tone, it really has a variety of sounds.

Post up any Duncan loaded bass pron you got.....
Aint no pro but I know what I like....
    Guitar to sound output:
Hamer, Dean, or Various, Levy's straps, Dunlop straplock/picks, Daddarrio strings 10-46, Duncan, Dimarzio, Mogami, Monster, MojoDrive pedal on occasion, Marshall, Crate, Vox, Mesa Boogie, Black Shadow Celestions, Eminence,..

Nice axe--I was never crazy about the Explorer-type shape on a guitar, but it
looks cool as a bass! Is one of the switches a coil tap for the Jazz pickup? I
have one on my P-J bass (no pics to post yet) with the same maroon pickup
cover; I don't remember if the color signifies anything, but haven't seen too
    many of them.

The Jazz pickup I have is a Duncan Hot Stack--it's wound hotter than the
regular Jazz and can be split for a thinner sound. I've got it currently set up
alongside a set of Quarter Pounder P-Bass pickups I got at the Duncan User
Group Day in 2005 (Hot Stack Jazz is from 1984).

EDIT: OK, I found the camera--this hardly qualifies as "bass pron," as it is
pretty much no frills (alder body with a french polish finish, stacked pots,
Duncans as described above, Badass II bridge and neck/body both made by
Phil Kubicki). Believe it or not, this was a "custom" job, in that I picked out
the components and had it put together back in 1984. Not really a looker,
but it was made for tone--lots of flexibility with this setup!

One switch is a two way and the other is a three way. It has been about 6 years since I had it rewired and have forgotten exactly what each was really for. That is a nice looking "parts" bass. I really dig on naturally finish guitars and basses. After rereading your comments I bet that is what my J Pickup and the two way is. I can get nice Ric tones with that.

Thank you for the compliments. There a a number of these out there for $450-$800 depending on what condition it's in and such. Almost 99% have an opaque finish but underneath is one like mine. Some are two piece some three like mine.
