Default had a problem with the notch positions

just changed the bridge pup of my typical SSS strat. all went well expet that the the tone pots wont cut the treble in the 2nd and 4th position... what happened? what should i do, re-wire everthing.. from expierience, does anybody here show me any shortcut for this problem? was there a short of some sort or i just didnt solder a particular connection well?

btw, everything works well with the 1st,3rd and 5th position. the 1st tone pot cuts the neck pup while the 2nd tone pot cuts the mid pup.

problem is, in 2nd and 4th, position both tone pots have no effect. no effect at all... only the volume pot which of course control the volume

    need help......

so if you have both tone controls all the way down you get a dark neck tone then a bright clucky notch tone then a dark middle tone on the first three positions of the switch?

thats weird, ive never seen that before. check the wiring.

Its not only weird . . . its virtually impossible. I say "virtually" because I've seen some pretty weird stuff in my days. The #2 notch position just makes the #1 and #3 at the same time. Once you find the problem, let us know. Or take pics of the wiring now. I'd love to see this.

it is weird. i am clueless how this could have happened. everything was perfect before i changed the bridge pup. im assuming there was a short and that the 5-way switch is faulty.

anyway.. yup the 2 tone pots cut the treble only for the 1st, 3nd and 5th position. the odd thing is that the pots have no effect at all when switched to any of the notch postion, as if they were bypased..

i tried checking but everthing looks fine.. do you think any of the components are faulty. ill try to rewire everthing, ill start form the 5-way switch connections.

    any sugestions?
