B A B A start man! It still work on my ROM version of the game for PC. The best I ever did on Contra was to beat the game using only 2 dudes.

    How about Kid Icarus?

By the way peeps, as I did with Zerb, I have a ton of ROMs and some pretty good emulators if anyone's interested, just let me know.

Sorry, bro, but like said bellow it probably wasn't shipped in them US or you just didn't notice.

Doubtful but possible. Then again there are so many versions of SF for all the consoles you're bound to pass some by...

Ah, the 6-button pad... nowadays I have to use a ps clone pad so it sucks to play any SF as bad in any of the consoles...

Not exactly retro, but cool games, yes.

I had not one, but 2 Street Fighter games for the SEGA Genesis back when I had one. The first one was SF 2: Championship Edition (very popular game) and the second I forgot what it was called (it had some new fighters in it and it was released a few months before the Genesis' demise IIRC correctly).

And the "up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start" actually became known as the "Konami code" because it was used in a few Konami games, not just Contra... just a nerdy tidbit

I know, but most people confuse things and call it the Contra code. I think Gradius also had it (making it one of the first games to use it) and the TMNT games. Actually, I think a few SF's even had the code even tough it was made by Capcom... assuming I still remember the codes correctly lol.

Speaking of retro gaming, I had a very naughty half hour with my credit card this lunchtime, I got some DVDs from Amazon (Led Zep, Die Hard trilogy, The Presige) and a load of classic games from game.co.uk. Rate mah purchuzzes!

    Worms II & Worms Armageddon - £5

I'm not sure if many dudes outside the UK will have heard of these two beauties, but they are real fun games to play. Worms firing artillery at other worms - what's not to like? Plus, the company that made these games, Team 17, their HQ is based 10 minutes drive from me, which I find immensely cool.

Command & Conquer: The First Decade - £20

I only ever owned the first one, and the first Red Alert game, but I really enjoyed them. I know some of the later ones in this boxed set won't really qualify as 'retro' games, but the earlier ones sure do. It has...

    Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer The Covert Operations
    Command & Conquer Red Alert
Command & Conquer Red Alert Counterstrike
Command & Conquer Red Alert The Aftermath
    Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun
Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun Firestorm
Command & Conquer Red Alert 2
    Command & Conquer Yuri’s Revenge
    Command & Conquer Renegade
    Command & Conquer Generals
Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour

    Final Fantasy IV - £10

This is the GBA re-re-release. I already owned the first PSX remake, but I find it a hassle to set up consoles and stuff, so for a ten-spot, I can now play it on the go. Truth be told, FFIV was the weakest of the SNES FF games. Compared to FFV, the magic system seemed a bit simplified, and it didn't nearly have the depth and overwhelming nature of FFVI, but it still was a great game to play.

    Cool purchases...

Don't even like stategy but I'd buy that.

Man, Worms was awesome, still remember getting my posterior handed to me at that game and loving it.

    Aye

I forgot to mention the retro classics I didn't get! Theme Hospital! Dungeon Keeper 2, Lemmings, Neverwinter Nights (on your recommendation, Luis!). I'll probably get all four of these in the near future, but I don't like buying loads and loads of games at once.

Not one of those games were more than £5 each. They were on offer at 3 for £10 too!
