Is it acceptable/common to mix Alnico pickups with a ceramic based p/u like the JBjr?

I currently have a JBjr in the bridge position of my MusicMan Silhoutte and would like to upgrade the totally lame DiMarzio singles in the neck and middle to something more dynamic. Any recommendations as to single-coils that would compliment that mini-humbucker?
