Default Rules Of Conduct - MUST READ

I have been thinking a lot about this receintly and it has taken a couple of days for me to digest it. Hopefully this will be short and sweet as well as easy to understand.

We are going to be nice to each other.

Thats it. In order to participate on the Seymour Duncan User Group Forum you must be nice to everybody. Anything short of Evans age old "keep it real, keep it respectful" will no longer be acceptable. Being disrespectful is a terms violation that will earn you a 1 point, 90 day infraction. Three infractions in any 90 day period and your account gets suspended until you have less than three infractions. Be warned though that any action taken by the admins of this site can range from a simple warning with no penality to a permanent ban depending on the situation so this is really only a guideline. Administration of this site still remains the perogative of the Seymour Duncan company and its non-employee administrators.

You all know when you are being respectful as well as when you are being disrespectful so please don't go looking for the line. If you are looking for the line to cross you have probably already crossed it.

In addition there are several areas of conversation that are no longer exceptable on this site. This is the list:

    Girls
    God
    Government
    Gays

I made them all G words so they'd be easy to remember. Politics has been out for awhile.

Religious discussions and references are now out too. The request for prayer thing is ok but the rest of it gets too inflammatory. No more Pope pics with Hitler heads, you know the drill.

No more naked girl threads. Women are just as pretty fully clothed, they are just more fun to tickle naked. There is plenty of nudity/soft porn on the internet without bringing it here.

No more sexual preference references. I don't know if the whole gay thing is offensive or immature but we don't need it here. It was funny when I was 12 but not anymore.

This stuff will be strickly enforced immediately and all actions by the admins of this site are fully authorized by Evan himself.

Now to set the tone. We are not out to get anyone and it is our sincere hope that each and every one of you stay and remain as productive contributors to the great group of guys that we call the SD UGF. But truth be told, guitar players and musicians have historically been a great bunch of guys that worked together to create what we now call rock and roll. The Beatles worked with the Stones who worked with Bowie ect... and they wrote songs for one another. There isn't the hostility between musicians in the real world that I find on this site. Musicians in the past have tried to change the world for the better with music that was uplifting or that challenged long standing social norms. We tried to stop a war, bail out some farmers and help cure aids.

We tried to make the world a better place. It is our goal to make this site a better place. I want to be part of something that contributes to the betterment of the world as a whole and not to something that reflects how coarse life can be when we forget our manners and the love for music and guitar that brought us together here in the first place.

There is enough garbage on the internet already. We don't need to bring it here.

    Thanks guys.

    Robert

    Default Posting YouTube videos

You may, or may not, be aware that Scott_F has changed some settings in the forum to allow YouTube videos to appear embedded in threads, rather than just a link to the YouTube site.

This is just a gentle reminder that this is still Seymour's house and that video content should be within the current forum Rules of Conduct.

If you need a recap on the rules then read here: http://www.seymourduncan.com/forum/s...d.php?t=113266

    Thank you

    Stevie

please remember to be considerate and respectful of your fellow forum members. your mother should have taught you when you were young, if you cant say anything nice then dont say anything. there are many ways of communicating that do not involve insults or foul language.

also please remember this site reflects on the seymour duncan company, we do not need questionable content.
