Default 3 New Pups for HSS Strat

Hey all. I have a MIA Fender HSS Strat and I despise the sound of all 3 pickups. Plays amazingly, but the sound just doesn't do it for me.

So, I ordered a cool rails neck, vintage rails neck, and hot rails bridge along with a new SSS pickguard.

I'm having a local shop do the work and had a couple quick Qs:

Firstly, I chose the right thing with the two necks, right? Planning on the cool in the neck and vintage in the middle. Sound good?

Also, will anything else need to be done since the bridge won't be a full size humbucker anymore?

The shop has a great rep, but I always like to have extra info. Any other comments/advice welcome! Thanks for the help!

I have the exact same combo in my main guitar, personally I would put a push/pull in to at least split the cool/hot rails, the cool rails split is a really nice tone.

You might want to try out of phase on the middle pickup also.

Thanks for the advice! Anyone else?

I assume the shop will wire up the new PUPs to the S-1 system, so that will kinda sorta give me splitting on the hot rails, although it'll also be tied to the vintage rails (middle pup) in the 2nd position or the cool rails in the 4th position with the switch engaged.

Yes, I think you made a good choice. I've always wanted to do the three rails setup. However, I'm getting this from the website: I've never tried any of those except the hot rails, and it was in the squier duncan-designed hot rails guitar. Whether or not you want a humbucker or not is up to you. Please give us some audio clips of it when you can! Thanks!

    Thanks for the kind words!

I only ask about the humbucker because I was worried the shop would need to re-pot or do some other work.

As for the audio clips, will Smells Like Teen Spirit work? How about the Enter Sandman intro?
