New Harry Potter book

Anybody else going to buy it at midnight? I reserved it at the local bookstore, and will be walking over in a little bit to pick it up. They had a cool deal if you prepaid, 20% off the price, plus a $10 gift cert for the store.

Combined, they knocked the price to about what amazon.com wanted, and I'd much rather support the local joint. Plus, walking downtown to a bookstore at midnight is WAY cooler and more fun than ordering it online

Actually, I have a horrible attention span and I do really well to be able to focus enough to get through 2 pages of any book. If this was not the case, I would most likely get it too. BTW, walking down to get it is very cool mang!

i just got back from picking up my younger son from the bookstore .. my wife, my older son and his friend are still there - they've all been there since 8pm enjoying the festivities ... they got numbers in the low 600s .. they probably wont get to the register until about 1:30 am ... i am goin to bed .. i gotta be the driver tomorrow for the family vacation to the beach

I went to the midnight launch, and I have been reading it ever since, stopping only to drink, excrete, sleep for 3 hours, and check the forum before I cross the finishing line (last 100 pages or so).

I am super pissed off right now.. I was supposed to get the book delivered to me hours ago(I pre-ordered online)..and yet here we are: 7 pm and no sign of it. The confirmation mail claims delivery by 3pm. Somebody's gonna get a blasting if it doesn't reach me today

One of my friends waited on line for it last night, starting from 10:15, and finally got the book(s) at around 12:30. I was planning on getting this morning from Pathmark or something around here, but then my friend shows up at my door at 1 in the morning with a big grin on his face holding a bag from Borders, shoves it in my hands and leaves. I then proceeded to get myself fully situated for extended book reading, preparing snacks, drinks, etc. Started at 1:45 AM, ended at 11:28 AM, no stops, no sleeping, no breaks. Just sitting in the one chair for over 9 hours, reading that book.

Loved every second of it
