I have a MySpace account, but I rarely login. How many of you guys (a) have a MySpace account and (b) do something useful with it?
- Keith

I have one that I started and have long since revisited. It's really boring, I can't find any real use for it. I'd rather spend my time here on the forum.

I literally would not have a career without myspace.

Myspace is lame, except for musicians.

Myspace is lame, except for your band. It's easy to get people to check your band's myspace and the imbedded player doesn't seem to suck as much as it used to.

I use it to check out new music and keep in touch with all of the people i know all across the continent. I've moved around a lot in my life, and a lot of my friends have all moved to strange locales too, so it's nice being able to see their updated pictures and drop them a casual note, "Hey looked like that was a fun party, how's school doin? peace" that sort of thing...

Never saw the appeal.

I put one together for my last band....hey, it's a free and easy website! Each member had their own too....you could collect the whole band as friends!
My link is in my sig, if you're interested......
Only you can decide what "good" sounds like!
"I learned a long time ago that one note can go a long way if it's the right one, and it will whip the guy with twenty quick notes." ~Les Paul

I have a "band" page that I use for shameless self-promotion & for personal stuff. I keep in contact with a few high-school friends via MySpace, which is cool since I haven't seen them in the flesh in 20+ years.
The shameless self-promotion is worthless, as I'm not a professional musician, I'm doing it just for ****s & giggles. I have my Soundclick player embedded on my MySpace page, which is the way to go.

When I want to hear what a new band sounds like, I go straight to MySpace and I know that I'll be able to hear their music quickly and easily and see their tour schedule.
When we review the various artist relations packets we receive every week, we look at a lot of criteria when evaluating the artist or band. But lately, one of the things we've started to look at is the number of MySpace friends and profile views. Not that we base our decision solely on this, but it's one of the many things we look at.
Plus, I use the questions posed to me on MySpace as a way of directing traffice to seymourduncan.com. And vice versa.
MySpace is important to me. That's why I have the link to my page in my signature.
