I gotta agree on the Air Norton its a wierd pickup but it sounds real real good. But you can not go wrong with any of the reccomendations, I put a custom custom in my strat and i cant say how it will sound in a LP but it is a fierce pickup it takes anything you give it and asks for more I saw someone say the custom custom doesnt clean up? It cleans up pretty good for me but thats my $.02

No, they don't. The only access to the controls is through a slightly oversize jackplate.

Re-wiring a 335 is tough enough, but these are the PITS!!!!

+1 air norton. I bought it on a whim. It is like a more low mid heavy 59 to my ears. It has the controlness of a 59 but a little more growl and is not quite as bright... which I needed in my wolfie. But in a Paul the 59 is probably great. I had 1 in my explorer and it was the cats meow. Go to www.myspace.com/jwsheritage and listen to the clips... that is our band playing live into a cheap recorder. My solos are hehe ok, but nothin special. That is all 59 in an explorer. It is a darker sounding guitar. So maybe that will help.
