Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded (Ebay Auction Content).....

So I was surfin Ebay checkin out some LP's as usual. I like to see all the different flame and plain tops on them. I came across a faded and the back of the body is red like its supposed to be but from the neck joint up to the headstock is brown? WTF?....

I don't understand those faded Gibsons.....ya got a great piece of wood, stain it a classy sunburst fashion, then leave it looking flat and dull........I'm down with the faded mahogany, or faded TV yellow and such by why go as far as sunburst on a somewhat flamey maple and not finish the job!

I love the non-buffed faded look. Makes it look kinda old. But I haven't seen one with the neck like that and I tend to agree someone has removed the finish.

Is that a Honey Sunburst? That's one of the most beautiful flame tops, and bursts, I've ever seen.

Those fadeds were being blown out months ago for $1599 from all the online dealers. I would be surprised if that guy gets even $1,000 for that one.

....as for pricing, these hold up in the $1200-$1400 range used, depending on the quality of the top.
