Question Using schaller strap button only?

Is it safe to use button only without a horseshoe lock? I don't have locks (and there is none in shops to get, even with buttons like complete set for it) so i want to know is it safe to use buttons without it?

    No peace of mind!
At least use a plastic ring or something on top of the strap to lock it on.

Without the lock, those buttons are pretty worthless. The only locks that function well as regular buttons are the Dunlops.
Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2
