Hey- I thought you said it was gonna be a "vintage" strat? It'd be good on a "tricked out" strat (Mini Humbuckers, trick tremolo, Sperzel locking tuners, etc...), but would look out of place if all the other components were vintage. Stick with the Mother of Toilet Seat!

I know, I know....I just have all these options running thru my head, and I get carried away. I guess I'll just have to start annother strat project...and this one's not even really off the gound.

God I'm sick....strat's aren't even my favorite kind of guitar, but they are fun as hell to mod.

That pickguard would be best combined with a solid Lake Placid Blue (I think... whatever the Steve Harris sig bass was painted) body instead of your transparent dye.

On that stained blue, I'm thinking aged white covers and knobs, to match the headstock. Then, white moto, black moto, blue moto, black 3 ply, or engine turned aluminum black or engine turned clear aluminum. Those are the guards I'd consider for that finish. Most importantly, tho, have a luthier get that nut and setup dialed in to perfection. That's usually the biggest issue, when putting together project strats.
