Are blackouts "metal"? I have a set of emgs that were lying around and i was going to put them in something but now the blackouts are supposed to be way better. Are they 'the' emg replacement for typical metal etc? Can you 18volt these also?

I personally think the EMG's are more 'metal,' but the Blackouts have more dynamics and whatnot that people seem to dig over the more sterile tone of EMG's.

You can 18v them, but I've heard there's no huge improvement.
