Default Cool Rails squeeling like a little girl?? Pic added **

I have Cool rails in the neck and mid of my Washburn steve salas. When I play them they emit a high pitched squeel. Is this normal? Ive seen this from single coils, but these are dual blade and arent supposed to do this right?

I have the feeling I need to rewire. I dont understand the purpose of the way its wired with a long ground jumpering tween the pots. Seems like it has grounding issues.

If it was a single pickup I would expect it to be a potting issue but not with two pickups.

Funky grounding doesn't usually cause squeal.

Let me stick my neck out a little bit. I am guessing you are playing through a tube amp. Swap out your first stage preamp tube out and see what happens. It seems strange but sometime a certain pickup will have a strong resonant freq that interacts with a tuve that is squealing in the same freq range.

I had a C-5 that always made my Mesa rig squeal and howl. It wasn't the pickup, it was a bad tube. The problem only occurred with that one pickup.

I have a tube amp, but I mostly play thru my Hughes and kettner 30 blue which is solid state..

When I wire a guitar, I go as simple as possble. Normally I follow the schematics from this forum. The stock wiring has the tone pot connected to the volume by both the cap (orange drop) and there is a wire that crosses over and is met by another wire. Its hard to explain, but Ive seen this wiring in an old carvin too.
I guess I should simplify it and see what happens
