    Default JB vs Custom

Can you guys give me your opinions on these two pickups? I want to hear what other people think about them. What are their similarities/differences, what you like, don't like, whatever.
I am getting a custom soon and I used to have a JB, what should I be expecting? I want brighter and tighter with moderate-high output. Is that what the custom sounds like?

    Thanks,

    -Lucian

The only way you will get close to that goal with a Custom wind is with the true Custom with a ceramic mag or a Custom with an aftermaket A8 mag. I pulled a JB trembucker out of my Swamp ash MG 102 and went to a A8 Custom. The Custom with the A8 is hotter and tighter but slightly warmer that the JB was.
Right now the Custom with an A8 mag swap is my favorite bridge pickup.

The Custom is still plenty bright... brighter than the JB? That's a tall order. It's certainly tighter and fits the medium-high to high output you're looking for.
Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2
