Default STRINGS-any sites to explain diffferences?

ok, Tele and want a fuller/thicker sound but not need kung fu fingers!

anyone try on the new Carlo Santanas-big core...10.5 to 48?

Love the DiAdaro XL, but the 10-46's seem too light.

Lost my old post. Anyone got a site for a 'list' of sounds from the new multitude of strings out there?

You've really gotta do some reading on different manufacturers' sites, then just go try some. If 10-46 is too light, D'addario does make a cool 10-48 set.

If you want a fuller tone without going heavier, try DR Pure Blues. They're nickel, and much less bright sounding that D'addarios.
Buy the book in my avatar. It's pretty cool.

I love the Pure Blues and Everly's B-52's for a warmer toned string.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

On a side note, I recently went over my guitars with a proper set of nut slot files. The result in ease of play gained about the equivalent of 1/2 the next lower size string guage. In other words, it made 11's feel like 10.5's.

Strings are normally nickel plated steel, so as JB says, strings with a pure nickel alloy on the wrapped strings (not just plated) will give a softer/warmer feel.
