    Default Best Candidate?

    Hi all,

I'm changing out the pups in my JP Les Paul. I own S.D. SH1 59's & S.D. Alnico II Pro's Which would be closer to the "Page" Tone?

I've heard a lot of people say that the 59's will get you closer, though if you really want to nail it, the SD Custom Shop does make the Jimmy Page Signature set. You might want to call them and see what that's all about.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that Robert S. has the JP set in one of his LP's. Maybe he'll come around and tell you about them.

Yup - The 59's will probably be the closest standard production pickup to nail JP's tone. The Seth's might be a close 2nd, but being an A2 mag they may not be quite tight enough.

Yeah! I agree about the 59. Just remember that Page uses a 59 les paul since Led ZepII album so this set might take you close to his tone. And, if you already own the set, it will be much more cheaper to use it that to order the custom shop one.
