I thought you'd like that...

People at work who know I play guitar constantly come up to me telling me that they can play this or that song at guitar hero...
I never wanna touch that thing in my life...
My own brew of acoustic folk-music:

Buy digital or physical album
Or you can just PM me...
Thanks for listening...
Great game, however the only thing worse than the people who think playing it is equal to playing guitar are the guitar snobs that try and ruin the fun by moaning!
iunno what all the hate is. i actually like the game, its terribly fun when you're tipsy. although, i have way more fun taking a real guitar over and playing along with the songs on it, that way we have a 3 way guitar hero thing going haha, and everyone's like wow, how pointless is this, look at this dude!!! (especially with heart - crazy on you)

It's a video game. It is not intended to be "real" guitar.
If nothing else, it allows some classic rockers to continue to receive royalties.
All that said, some guitar techniques that are relatively easy are quite difficult on GH (e.g., arpeggiated chords).

My grandpa was a chinook pilot in vietnam.. My dad tells the story of how he beat the whole "Helicopter" game at the movie theater once. Things work the other direction. Being a guitar player, and knowing I can play most of these songs anyway, just makes it so much more fun. Like how skateboarders have fun playing skate. Its just fun.
"He hoped and prayed that there wasn't an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife."
-Douglas Adams

I have no desire to play it. Looks corny to me.

Seriously... I've asked this a couple times and didn't get much of a response: what is keeping developers from putting out a version that uses actual tab and a MIDI-equipped guitar as a controller?

I couldnt do it,it was just too different from the guitar. It is fun to watch the kids play though. Now my nieces and nephews are listening to Sabbath and Priest rather than Hanna Montana.
