    Default Yamaha RGX A2 pups

Hey all, Recently ordered one of these, but it hasn't gotten here yet, already thinking about the pickups...

From what I know the stock pickups are pretty mellow alnico 2 soapbars. I play prog influenced heavy rock, bordering on metal. I wanted something with a unique sound, since i'm currently using a Schecter C-1 classic with blackouts. Awesome axe but I need something a little more.. complex?

I wanted to go with a Screamin Demon / Jazz neck combo, but it doesn't look like the RGX pup routes will fit standard humbuckers.

Does anyone know if p90s will fit in the RGX? I may just have to route out the guitar a bit. Does anyone know anything about Yamahas AIR system? Will routing the pickup cavities cause a problem?

    Thanks.

The RGX is built somewhat like a surfboard, if I'm not mistaken. The way that's built is basically a foam core with a hard outer shell. If this is the case, I would seriously advise against routing. If soapbars do fit, a set of Hot P-90's would work well for hard rock.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
