Default scratch removing polish? such a thing?

    hey,

for my project, i have used a white polishing compound but there are stil really really small scratches over the body but this polishing compund removed a thin layer and i dont want to remove any more to fill in these scratches.

is thre a guitar polish that also removes scratches?

    can i have a link?

    thanks

McGuire Swirl and Scratch Remover. You can get it at a great automotive supply store or a great hardware store. It's designed for car paint and comes in many grades (courser to finer) with the swirl remover being possibly the finest grade. Do a google search for McGuire Swirl Remover. Lew

It's actually Meguiar's (sure, semantics, it's pronounced the same). They make a scratch & swirl remover that does a very good job. It takes a little more elbow grease, but it will produce mirror shiny finishes if the wet sanding process was done correctly. You can go from 2000 wet sand straight to swirl remover without using any other compounds (I typically do) but it requires a couple applications of the swirl remover.

For poly finishes, a machine polish works better and faster with an orbital polisher, IMO. It can be used on nitro, too, but it's easy to burn through a thin nitro finish if you aren't extremely careful.
Duncan Pickups in currently in use: '59 (rewound to PATB-3)/'59, Custom 5/AP2H, Tapped QP set for Tele, Duncan Distortion, SP90-1/SP90-2

Thanks for the spelling correction. I did a search on Google for Meguiar and it came back saying "Did you mean McGuire?" So I thought I had it spelled wrong! lol!

That's OK... for years I thought it was pronounce Meg-ee-yar's. Make no sense, but that's some how what I saw in my head. Imagine my embarrassment when I asked for it in an auto parts store.
