I'm not sure about the neck-swap issue, and not sure why anyone would want to think about something like that if you like the guitar bad enough in the first place to buy it for $1K. It'd better play like butter.
My MIJ 60's RI Strat interchanged with a custom pickguard I bought at a local music store just fine with no screw-hole issue. It took me a couple of set-ups to get it where I wanted it, but it plays and sounds great....an axe that I will never part with.

it's a '57! like minemine's sunburst though
and watch out, nothing fits it. trem arms, the scratchplate, the lot lol
and i paid £255. $510!



If you liked that '57 contour, try to find a Clapton strat and have Warmoth or USACG copy that.
