    Default Active Pickup Wiring Help

Hey there. I have a question regarding some active pickups.

I had the Mustaine Livewires installed, and at first I liked the way they sounded but lately I find them really muddy and lacking the crunch of EMGs (I want to try some Blackouts, but one thing at a time).

Anyways I checked the wiring, and it seems my guitar tech left the original passive pots (500k?) instead of using the active pots (25k?) that came with them.

Would this have a large effect on the sound of my pups? Or should I look into trying some blackouts?

    Thanks for the help!
