Congrats on finally receiving the guitar - sounds like a beauty.

Have you huffed yet?

I'm still at work!!!
I do like the new guitar smell, though. It's very nice.
I also like the "Gibson Custom" guitar case.
This is the first brand new Gibson I've ever bought. My SG Special, My old V reissue, and my '63 Junior (obviously) were all bought used.
This guitar is so nice. This is awesome.
hey - one thing to note: I have it hanging on the wall right next to my Edwards LPC. I can't really discern any difference in quality between the two. Seriously. So if you were thinking about getting an Edwards but are hesitant because you don't know if they're good - take my word for it - they're good.

Well, I've only played two Edwards and they're both mine. Vastly different, too - the aforementioned LP Custom and one o' them 1-hum-and-an-OFR neck-through V dealies.... but they're both totally rock-solid and I've yet to find a construction flaw on either. Both great playing, great sounding, surprisingly light and resonant guitars. The LP is only 8.5 lbs with real mahogany and no weight relief holes.
Their electronics, while they use Duncan pickups, could be considered suspect. My V had a grounding issue which I corrected when I replaced the bridge pickup. It hummed through an amp if you weren't touching the strings. The LP's bridge pickup was microphonic when I got it, but that was due to the unpotted cover on the pickup which I've since removed and it fixed it.
As for the fit, finish, and quality of materials... I've yet to read a single negative review anywhere on the 'net.
