Default New Bridge for PRS McCarty?

Hey guys, I am looking to beefin' up the tone of my McCarty. Would a new bridge help me accomplish this? Who makes replacement bridges? I would also like to add a little more sustain...

Do you have the stock pups in it? I mean, the wrap around bridge that is on there is, I would think, gonna give you better tone and sustain than an adjustable one as it is more solid.

I've got two PRS's (a Cu22 and a SC) and neither would incite the phrase "Where's the beef?". That being said, I also have swapped out the pups for SD's. I have C5's in the bridge of both of my PRS's with a 59 in the neck of the Custom and a PG in the SC. I also have a SD Custom in the bridge and APII in the neck of a SC that I sold to my dad. That guitar's tone is monstrous.

As tone pro's set up for a PRS isn't too cheap, I'd go get a set of SD's and see how that treats you. Unless you're having problems intonating, I personally would just stick with the stock bridge. Though, there may be some on here who have switched to another wrap around and swear by it. I have just never had a problem with mine. The problem was always with the stock pickups.

If your McCarty isn't sustaining, there is an issue far beyond the wraparound bridge. Honestly, the wraparound PRS makes is my favorite bridge and that thing sustains for days. The stock pickups may be muddy and hot, but sustain shouldn't be a problem- what exactly are you playing through?

I have an extra one that's already filed. I bought it from Tonepros a few years ago for around $100 or more. I'll sell it for $50 shipped. All you have to do is put it on. If you buy a new one, it's got to have the grooves filed, because they come with smooth saddles.

    If anyone's interested, I got 1 and maybe 2.

What it does is add a lot more sustain and all the strings ring out strong. Overall, it tightens up the tone of a McCarty.

I have a McCarty Standard with an SD Custom in the bridge and a PG in the neck. I guess the sustain isn't all that bad, just looking to see if there is more I can do to enhance it.

How does the SC compare in tone? A good deal heavier in tone or marginally noticeable?

GJ Ill get back to you soon!
