Default I need wiring help, please!

Hey everyone. I upgraded the stock pickups in my epiphone les paul custom a little while ago, and I did the wiring myself. Both with stock pickups and the new SD's, I felt like I was missing some of the high frequencies. After doing some research, it sounded like I needed to drop some 500k pots and new caps. I opened the guitar up today, and I already have 500k pots and .022uf caps. But as I look at the wiring, compared to the SD wiring diagrams on the site, something doesn't seem quite right to me. I am definitely no expert in this field, so I could use all the help I can get.

I was measuring the resistance on the pots and the tone pots measure about 500k, but (if indeed I AM doing this right) when I measure the volume pots the same way, the measurement comes out very close to what the DC resistance is for the respective pickups. I've made a quick wiring diagram of the way my guitar is currently wired.

My guitar's wiring, currently (copy and paste the link -- no remote linking): http://stormwave.8m.com/wiring.jpg

    Please help! Thanks.

That is correct. Any time you have two resistances in parallel, (the pup and the pot), the total resistance will always be slightly less than the smallest resistor. A 500k pot in parallel with an 8k pup will read around 7.xk

    You're good to go.
