    Default Gibson LP Historic R0

    Hi there everyone,

I recently tried out an R8 and was instantly hooked on the creamy midrange and unbelievable resonance of the Reissue series.

Just wondering if anyone here has had a chance to compare the R0 with the R8 tonally and in terms of resonance.

I am aware that the R0 has a thinner neck than the R8, but I'm a bit concerned about how this might affect its sound.

    Any comments?

I do think that the bigger neck makes the guitar sound bigger. I have an R8 loaded with a set of Duncan antiquities and just love it, I also did actually play an R0 just the other day...Im not a big fan of the neck profile but FWIW the guitar did sound great...it sounded just alike a good Les Paul should! If you want the thinner neck get one...I bet you'll be really happy wiht it! Also, just FWIW...if you look around there was a small run of R0 neck profile R7's so you can get the Historic quality, slim neck and not have to pay for a flame top.
