DiMarzio PAF Pro in neck detuned

OK, I tune down to D standard and was wondering if anyone here has ever tried a PAF PRO in the neck of a superstat - in particular - detuned. Basically I'm asking, because I believe the PRO to sound at least somewhat dark, if it would sound murky under heavy gauged detuned stings in the neck position.

This is a pickup that I'm putting in the neck of my new guitar to compliment a PATB in the bridge. I don't think this is generally a dark sounding pickup. On the contrary, it can be somewhat bright in the bridge of some guitars. It's very articulate and powerful, but not overpowering. I think it's going to make a fabulous neck pickup.
