What in the blue cow hell is a WRHP?

Ah. Why in the tits do you need a Tele pickup!?
...I hear the alloy used to make the magnets for the are unobtainium now, but I also hear the custom shop can do ANYTHING...
I have no hope for anyone on this board wanting a Wide Range bucker. Despite the fact that no one makes them, possibly for the above reason.
They WERE around in the 80s
If I had a widerange I'd put it in the neck of my Jazzmaster. No routing required.
(I have avatars and sigs turned off. Do you?)
...P90 in a strat SC maybe? (give me credit, I'm jumping out of the fender box a bit)
...Filtertron in an SC?
Yeah. Us "weirdos" have officially ruined the thread for everyone.

Additionally, imagine how expensive the tooling for a widerange would be.
Sorta has to be based on something duncan makes regular production.
If they did either of my above ideas, I'd buy a Squier duo just to try them out![]()

Trust the guys with badtaste to ruin this thread............
We already had the Brobucker, and the Crazy 8 for those unobtanium tones.
How about just a regular hot-rod 80s humbucker? Then we can look into single coils.
...I think plenty of regular hot rod 80s buckers are available without going custom anyway. Why get a custom "regular"
You guys already got 2 buckers
And SCs WERE around in the 80s if that's your only criterea. Apparently hehe.

I'd still love to see a "rail" version of a Phat Cat. Imagine using the rail from a Dimebucker with the construction of a Phat Cat. Da Big Dog.![]()

TV Jones has been doing HiLoTrons for years. These are the stuff.
Filtertrons through and through, even if they don't look it.

Hah. Cream (and I) was talking about the reverse of that. That seems to be a single coil in a filtertron body?
An SC that sounds like a filtertron would be cool. Something that could fit in an SC cavity.

There was a thread that I think Jeremy might have started just after the Crazy 8 pickup, about a single coil pup. The ultimate Strat bridge pup IIRC. Either way, with a Tele and a Strat in my house, I'd be happy with any forum single coil pup. Plus, after all, wasn't it Seymour breaking a Tele single coil that inspired him in the first place??

Ah.
Well it is a SC that sounds like a Filtertron.
But you guys mean a Filtertron in a Single Coil casing? That might not be possible, due to the inherent Filtertron winding style. You need too much wire, and the coils are just too big to fit in a normal single coil cover.
it might be a test of duncan mettleI'm sure similar difficulties surrounded the rails etc.
This pickup would have to be pretty different for me to want to try it though.
I already KNOW what I want in normal single coils and duncan (and fender) makes that, so going out of the box just sounds fun. A lot of punk kids would like a gretsch pickup, unfortunately they wouldn't care enough about gear or have the money to even be on this forum![]()
