Well, it's far too tasty to be a CGord freakout, but I like it regardless!

Well obviously there would be no point in me trying to compete on your turf Curt, so I'm forced to go this route. Do you realize how much I would give to be able to rise to your heights of freakoutedness?

Thanks d1dsj, you'll be happy to know that I used a much newer guitar for the slide and crunch parts, a 1978 Ibanez Silver Series Strat. I'm trying to take your advice and not rely so much on that worn out old guitar.

Something about it sounded Claptoneque to me. Is Clapton one of your major influences?

No, not really. In fact I wouldn't have listened to a Clapton album since he was in Cream. I like some of that stuff though. I can't remember hearing him play much slide, so I don't really know his slide style. But there is definitely a lot of British blues influence in my playing via Beck, Kossoff, Blackmore and Page.

Somehow ,it has the same "positive" groove that Curt's songs have. You are similar in making groovie songs ,just in different ways i guess
1:16-17 and 1:26 is amazing moments!!!

Sounds somehow some movie soundscore......But much more tasty...Somehow ,i can clearly feel that you are not American (I know you aren't) from your playing...The Blues-Country Scheme is there ,but the notes and feeling is totally different...

    It's Unique Geoff.I dig it!

Thank you db, they are inspiring words and a fascinating, insightful perspective. I know we joke around a lot in this part of the forum, but I feel exactly the same as you do about Curt's stuff, it is always fresh, always positive and you can hear both his musicality and his sense of humor in his tracks, which is a winning combination, IMO. I really dig what he does too.

It's also very interesting what you say about the "heritage" of my playing. Maybe it has something to do with growing up in a country that has taken its influence from many places, including Britain, the US and Europe. It makes sense that a German would recognize it, because just from the week I spent in Germany, I realized that the German people have a greater appreciation of music and musicians than probably any other country on Earth. Thanks for sharing that insight brother.

It's a pleasure for me , for listening to your music ,and it's even greater pleasure to talk to you about your or others music...

And it's allways fun to "analyze" different cultures..Language and Music are the greatest source of Culturel differences ,and the best sources to have fun with too.
Your way to using words ,building sentences are exactly the way you play...
I see most Australians are this way...More relaxed ,humourous ,and honest somehow..

And i have to say ,i have great respect for people who really feel free and are open to mix cultures ,and create their own universal language...I love music ,as i love the languages...But music winns..And you sir are a great example for that
    Cheers!

This is nice! My ears loved this in the early morning with a cup of green tea in my hands.

There was a lick or two at the very beginning, and I instantly thought 'Jeff Beck'. Then I saw your post regarding your playing confirming it.

But really, this is good. I always know there is good stuff to expect when you post your clips on the forum.
