    Default 1/4 lb j- bass

    im looking on buying new pickups for my bass, has anyone had any experience with jazz bass quarter pounders for the bridge?

    I have not but, I installed a set of QP P-bass pickups for a customer a while back. They were badass in comparison to the Fender pickups I took out. I would not hesistate to get them in the J bass.

    I've had a bunch of QP's along the way. They were sometimes better than the bass they came in (for example, the Korean Squier P I bought at a yard sale for $100)....

    I would not hesitate to try the QPs....hard to go wrong if you like tons of BOOM and low end tone.

    IMO, its a bass, that is what you want. Otherwise, plug a guitar in and pick away. LOL!!!!

    As far as Rics not being boomy, they're not, but I for one really like the way they sound. Through the right amp set up, they can really hold the low end.
