I Love Side Money

It's almost like bein a drug dealer or something I reckon. It's nice to have my regular job I do that I get a check for. However, it's alot nicer when I'm at someone's house doin my regular thing and they walk up to me and ask me a question I love to hear. You know, somethin to the affect of..."hey buddy, you ever just dig trenches on the side or will the cable company let you do that?". I always kinda laugh and tell em "heck yeah I do!!". See, 90% of people think I "actually" work for the cable company and don't realize I'm a contractor.

I've had two calls today asking me about if I could cut open a trench for them. One guy has a water leak and wants me to cut a trench for that, and another guy wants me to cut one for an electrical line going to a light pole in the back yard.

That's free money to me man. I love it!! I always tell em...."Well, let me look at it at and I'll give you a price. I'm rather cheap just cause I figure we'll both come out good on it. I should be chargin $2.50 per foot, but I usually charge about $1.50 - $2.00 per foot. It usually depends on how cool the person is. Personality goes along way with me man.

Anyways, just me keepin it on the cheap side tommorrow...I'm hopin to make roughly $350 - $400 just for three hours of work tops. That's not real work time per se, that's just me bein away from the house for three hours.

I got paid $60 tonight to play some loud rock n' roll and move equipment. Plus I drank for free, so I saved money. Can't beat it.

I used to do a lot of side computer jobs, my boss would charge 90$/hr so I would do it for a discount for direct payment to me. Some customers even gave me username/passwords for porn sites, bonus :-)

....I must be getting old. The second option is starting to sound pretty good to me.

Actually she's touring the world with her boyfriend, both modeling their way around. There are quite a few Brazilians here doing that.
