    Neodymium magnet
    are
    Rare-earth magnets

there,s also "ferrous oxide" and a few other "oxides"

Alinco,s lose their magnetic quality.they,re also a compound that includes aluminium[non magnetic]

rare earths and ferrous oxides don,t

I have FeO pole magnets in my Ephi les paul pups [Ephi coils]

In my Framus ,Dimarzios with rare earth pole magnets.

neodymium has been used in speakers for a while and i think there have been a few pups made with them. i actually have some small rods to make pups with but i havent gotten around to trying it yet.

fender uses samarium-cobalt on their new scn noiseless pups. they sound kinda flat and lifeless to me.

both are rare earth type magnets

part of the problem is you dont want too much magnetic pull on the string since it will kill sustain and alnico actually imparts some tonal qualitys that other magnets dont seem to, which is why alnico pups tend to sound more organic and lively than a ceramic

Like the difference between tube & solid state amps?

    Guitar pus always sounds squishy.

Try not to get it in your eye.
