I wake up in a cold sweat every night as the thought of them raping and pillaging their way across the motherland torments me to this day. I will have revenge.

3) Which is better, Birmingham or Cheltenham?

If I want to be inspired to write heavy, suffocating riffage and soundscapes, Birmingham is the place to be, in all its industrial urban wonder. It is a vastly under-rated city with some great things to do, but ****, it sure is ugly.

If I don't want to get mugged, beaten up, burgled or generally harassed, Cheltenham is for me. Nice, polite middle England, mainly regency architecture. Plus, the lead singer of Killing Joke, Jaz Coleman is from here.

4) Ever thought of returning to your birthplace to be mugged by a roider?

Not a chance. That place has nothing going for it.

They do indeed. In a slow, spaced out kind of way.

8) What are the worst and best things that have ever happened to you?

The best was having the opportunity to travel the USA last summer. Learnt alot about the country, myself and sleeping on trains.

The worst... I don't know really, it's all been pretty easy going up to now. Something that has stuck with me for a long lime was an unavoidable but unwanted break-up of a relationship about 2 years ago. Still, life goes on. I'm a pretty positive sort of guy.

9) Has there been a big life changing moment for you yet, philosophically, ethically, musically, religiously, or otherwise....? If so, what was it? If not, you're boring.

Well, religiously I can't really talk about, which was a big one.

Ethically, I visited Africa bout 4 years ago, and saw first hand what free trade and greed has done to that continent. I will support fair trade until I die.

The big moment with music was hearing Nirvana, and realising, ****, I can do this.

Philosophically? A wise man once said: "You'll get over it". I've been getting over it ever since.

10) Money is no object... you've got 14 days to travel... where do you go and what do you do?

I take my snowboard and winter warms and get on the first plane to Banff, Canada. That will be the best 14 days ever. Never am I more happy than on my own, in the snow, going so fast I could break by neck at any second.
