    But then, "pop music" is the musical equivalent of fast food. Nobody goes to the drive-thru for a gourmet meal. They're hungry, they want it quick, and they don't care about the nutritional content. Some places (=labels) are better than others, but the ingredients and choices are largely the same.

    In this metaphor, mp3 might be likened to the box that the meal arrives in. It's disposable, and it has just enough substance to deliver the goods; just don't break out the good china.
