    Default mystery SD pickup

long story kinda short the best sounding guitar in the house right now is a korean (plywood!) strat, with a mystery SD pickup in the bridge. pickup came with the guitar, and we thought it was stock until close inspection

its a staggered pole peice single coil, clotch wires, theres a "1LR" or "1LP"
    sticker on the back

guitar sounds great, its warm and mellow, thru any amp at any setting, but its clear too. its really a wonderful sounding pickup

    thanks
    mike

Sounds like an SSL-1, though I had a Classic Stack that had a 1B sticker on the bottom.

SSL-1, quite possibly left handed staggered, wound by "R" and "P" respectively.

Classic stacks have 4 conductor wiring, so they can be ruled out here

All the stacks have 4 conductor IIRC, but Maybe they were set up with vintage correct cloth wires at some point for some odd reason...

But either way, the 2 that came stock in my DK-1 in 96 are def. 4 cond, as are all that I saw before that or have seen since

Interesting, and good to know. That means that what I thought was a dead Classic Stack is actually a dead SSL-1
