I'm building my first project, a mahogany string-through body Iceman. Mahogany neck, most likely rosewood fingerboard. I have a JB/jazz in my '79 Iceman, an Invader/SD in my Washburn V, so this guitar will be a classic rock/blues/southern rock build (no high output, I get plenty of gain from the amp). I'm looking for a clear rich tone in the bridge, something that will get some growl but not overly harsh or mid-heavy. The neck p/u must be smooth, rich and creamy, and both must sound good with gain or clean. So I think the winners are a PG bridge and an APll in the neck. I plan to series/split/parallel wire it, so this combo must split/parallel nicely for some twangier tones. Am I on the right path?
