Hi,
I've been working on a Fender Jag-stang for a friend and have re-wired his pick-ups for a different switching system. I'm sure the wiring is OK as everything buzzes out OK and they work, it's just that I'm not so sure about the sound. They sound dull compared to my American Telecaster Custom (70's model with stock pups).
The PUPs installed are:
Bridge: JB SH4
Neck: SSL5 Custom 5 Staggered
I just wanted to canvas opinion on what they should sound like as I'm feeling a bit paranoid. Stupidly, I didn't listen to the guitar through an amp before I re-wired so I deserve all the ribbing I get for that.
BTW I measured the DC resistance into the output jack for different switching combinations and it all measures OK. I even tried removing the tone cap but it doesn't seem to affect the sound much compared to when it is fitted with tone set at max (as I would expect).
<edit> and the volume pot is 250K (tone pot is 500K with 47n) <edit>
Thanks,
Dave.
