I just picked up a 52 Hot Rod Tele with the intention on replacing both pickups.


It has a SD mini - humbucker in the neck. Can I replace it with a full size humbucker? I am sure routing will be needed but aside from a replacement pickguard do I need anything additionally? Not sure how pups are attached to the pick guard underneath?


Also - I have some Gibson Burstbuckers - will they sound "horrible" in the neck position? I don't know what type of humbucker is typically used in Teles.
