Question Interesting topic of the week #2: What's your MPG?

I applaud any dudes who get 8 mpg in their 5.7 liter trucks, or 7.4 liter Oldsmobiles or whatever. If you can afford the gas, then by all means do it!

But most of us don't want to afford that much gas. So what's your current MPG? My Falcon gets around 28 on the freeway, but in town it's more like 18. Big gap there I know, but that's just the nature of the car.

Still, my first 150 miles were just barely over 5 gallons, that made me happy. And not to mention a combined 14 people who've randomly come up to me complimenting the car. San Pedro is a car town, so I wouldn't expect any less. Still, very cool!

Me and my V6 toyota tacoma get an average of 16mpg. what a drag... It costs almost $75 to fill and I only get about 225 - 250 miles per tank...

High 20's..... I don't applaud folks for their gas guzzlers, but I feel their pain at the pump.

I went to Nova Scotia last week and kept track of the milage and # gallons between fillups. I got an even 25 MPG in my Honda CR-V, all highway driving, which is what I expected.

I miss my Pontiac Sunbird that I drove for 10 years up until '04.

High 20's for me too. When I had my truck w/ a 350 V8, I was getting around 18 average.

If you're getting 8 MPG in a 350 these days, you're driving a VERY old truck.

I never measure it. But my fuel-sipping corolla probably gets 35 mpg.
I always express it in liters / 100 KM. And that should be around 9-10 litters / 100 km. 8 on the highway.

Dude, my pocketbook won't ever need help. If you're smart with money, and don't waste it, you can splurge on things like 'gas.'

Like I said, Falcon is averaging 22-25 at the moment. That's fine. My Corvette gets about 8-15 mpg and that's fine too.

I was just screwing around. New cars suck. That's really all. I prefer old guitars/amps/homes/cars/etc., but I would buy new on 3/4. I won't ever buy a new car.

Hmm... The fews times I have driven it, if I drive it like I normal do (all the way up through all gears etc) I can get mine to do 6-7kilometres per litre.
Dont know what this is in MPG.

Mines a Porsche 944 2,5 with 163hp... I have a 1988 Turbo engine for it that kicks some 340hp after various tune ups.. That will be fun with our gas prices.

Wait a minute, I can do this! 6km/l, there's 4 liters in a gallon so that's 24 km in a gallon, that's around 14 miles/gallon. 7 would be around 16.5. That's not too terrible I suppose. Plus, it's a ****ing Porsche so who friggin cares!?

Exactly. There is a feeling of being in a truly awesome car that most drivers just don't get.

Quickly becoming my idol... I hope you know...

I have to run on octane 98 fuel too.. With the turbo engine the fule mileage will be shot to hell.. 3-5km/l if I crank it.. and I am 18 so I cannot help myself from doing that

Average I can hold it at 8km/l with normal engine... With turbo engine I expect that to be at some 6 or so.

But like you said, who cares.. Its a Porsche.

That Falcon of yours though... SWEET car. I dont think it would like the danish climate much, but **** man... Just a great classic
